Lots of lovely wedding gigs with Apollo Strings, House of Angels and Creation Musical Services this month, across the country and at London's Roundhouse. The recording continues with Steeleye Span for the forthcoming album, with the addition of scream-into-electric-violin-with-delay and other similar common musical techniques.
I was privileged to be asked to be interviewed by Roger Malone for Western Morning News in advance of Steeleye Span's performance at Sidmouth Folk Festival at the end of the month. He has given me this generous double page spread in the culture section. Thank you Roger!
For those of you who watched the David Bowie Prom, you may remember the wonderful composer, arranger and bassist Jherek Bischoff who arranged and performed some of the songs in that incredible evening. I was privileged to be part of a string quartet performing with him at his album launch concert just a few days before the Prom. His music is incredible and his string parts are far from obvious. An exhilarating evening.
I can cautiously share with you my anticipatory excitement about my new electric string quartet endeavour. Rehearsals are under way with these great players, and here is a snap from our little shoot we had this month. Lots more work to be done but I think it's going to be stonking!
